Frame D Ring (also formerly known as strap hangers) are the ubiquitous method for creating an attach point behind picture frames or any other objects to be suspended. The Frame D Ring are made by a leading supplier of framing hardware industry. The Frame D Ring can be placed on the center rear of any picture frames or two can be mounted, one on each frame side-rail.
Once installed, they may be used directly by our hanging hooks or a wire may be strung between two of them. When attaching Frame D Ring to a frame that will be used on a hanging system, you might consider placing them very high on the side rails of the frame instead of the customary formula, 1/3 down from the top of the frame. This will help the picture frames hang closer to the wall.
This is particularly appropriate if the frame will be strung with a hang wire. Also, if you elect to use a hanging wire on the rear side of a frame, and intend to use a hanging system, we recommend removing any slack from the hanging wire. We offer three sizes of D Ring Hangers. Please see the below table for compatibility with our hooks.

Frames are traditionally prepared with a hang wire on the rear. This wire is often longer than it need be. There is slack in it by some inconsistent amount. When hung from a hanging system, this standard frame preparation will frequently cause the top of the frame to hang away from the wall, what we call face forward.
How To Manage Face Forward in Framed Art? Hanging framed art seems straightforward enough, right? A picture or art piece, a custom or ready made frame, a nail & hammer. Err ... well, scratch the nail and hammer. Picture hanging systems are the solution!
Since most of the population is familiar and experienced with hanging a frame from the hang wire on the rear of a frame, it is natural for us to do the same when hanging a framed art piece from a hanging system. However, that experience does not translate to a framed art piece hanging from two cables or rods.

Recently, one of our more advanced customers shared a photo story with us about his in-depth room makeover project. This opportunity came when a child moved out of the home. The project was to refresh the space and convert the room to an in-home office. The entire project would include installing new windows, crafting all new finish carpentry to include baseboards, chair rail, window and door casements, mounting Click Rail Track behind a beautiful crown molding, and a new paint job.
