Mounting Plate

Mounting Plates are finished with a luxurious hard anodized surface. Our architectural hardware is CNC machined from solid aluminum.

When mounting either of our piers to gypsum board it is almost imperative to use specialized anchors other than common plastic screw anchors. The exception is when structural lumber is backing the drywall board, then screws are appropriate.

AS Hanging Mounting Plates are matched with Wing Toggle bolts to support our Fixed Piers on common drywall. These Wing Toggles open to 1.5 inches but pass through a 3/8 inch hole. With an outside diameter of 1.5 inches, the plate spreads loads across a larger surface area and hides the hole used for the toggle.

There are two versions of Mounting Plates to choose from. Mounting Plate Round, most common, is a 1.5-inch diameter circular plate. The other option, the Mounting Plate Half Moon, has the same diameter but is trimmed on one edge to allow it to be mounted closer to an obstruction, such as a ceiling or a wall, within 0.5-inch from the obstacle. Both plates include a recessed area on either side, which automatically center the Fixed Pier on the plate.

It is the responsibility of the installer to select the proper mounting hardware for a particular installation.

When installing Articulated Piers, please use Articulated Pier Mounting Plates.
