What is the best method to meet or exceed the recommended EBD patient satisfaction and display goals in healthcare facilities like Acute Care and Senior Housing?
Acute Care Facilities
Get Well Cards accumulate and are displayed on the small patient table from which food is delivered, meds issued, and lab samples drawn. That surface is overused and of these uses, being a platform for Get Well cards is relatively unimportant in the critical Medication Safety Zone (MSZ). To compensate, the cards get moved to the bed or get stacked on the table. Experience shows they quite frequently fall to the floor. Overworked staff returns them to that same bed side table.
Senior Housing Facilities
Seniors, especially those with memory loss conditions, find it stressful and frustrating when so many of their surroundings look alike. Their corridors all seem the same and it becomes difficult to identify their room door when they forget their room number. Inside their own units, EBD studies again show without continual visual reminders of their past life experiences reinforced throughout their homes, mental acuity fades.
Enter Infectious Disease Control (IDC) and Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI's), with hospital floors, being of course the least hygienic surface in healthcare. Get Well cards now transfer contaminants to the table top where the lab caddy now conveniently transfers these to other patient rooms and the lab. Currently 1 in 25 patients will be infected with an HAI during their hospital stay.
Deploy Casso EBD Patient Engagement Rail throughout senior care residential facilities. Mount outside unit entry doors, hallways and within residential units. It becomes a display rail enabling occupants and staff to post pictures, post cards, greeting cards, news clippings, etc. without the need for sharps. It is so simple and easy to use patients will engage the rail almost immediately. Simple. Safe. Engaging.
In Critical Care and patient stay rooms, Casso EBD Patient Engagement Rail is mounted to footwall, or other suitable vertical surface. Get Wall cards are up and out of the way but always easily within reach of staff, visitors and mobile patients. However, most importantly it provides patients a means for continuous visual engagement, thus improving patient satisfaction. This simple product addresses 15 of 23 desired EBD goals, and even 5 of the 7 high priority goals for intensive care and Maternity rooms, all helping to soften the patient environ.
The clever design of this rail allows for photos, pictures, art and Get Well cards up to 2mm thick (1/16 inch) to be inserted at will. Plus, there is no need for staples, thumb tacks, push pins or adhesive, greatly reducing the chance of injury and those costly and bothersome supplies. This rail is equally good at displaying art in a Pediatric Ward, room or public spaces.
Each Casso EBD Patient Engagement Rail is accompanied with OSH-PD compliant mounting hardware and an optional Label Frame, which can be mounted to the rail face. It can be used to post an inspiration message, a patient name, etc.
