Using Frame Stabilizers to Create a Professional Wall Display

We would like to introduce you to one of our specialty fittings - Frame Stabilizer.

Frame Stabilizers correct two common challenging situations:

   - Where the top of a frame hangs away from the wall
   - Where a frame teeter-totters on a lower corner of the frame.

A Frame Stabilizer becomes a useful tool when the top of a frame hangs away from the wall, and the bottom of the frame tilts inward towards the wall. This is caused by the way in which the average framed art piece is prepared with a hang wire on the rear side of the art. To easily solve this problem, place a frame stabilizer on our hanging cable (or rod, pictured) and hide it behind the lower rail of the offending frame.

By doing so, the lower edge of the frame is supported away from the wall, similar to the top edge. This results in an object that appears to be floating just off the wall surface, creating a pleasing look. A Frame Stabilizer also helps, and is almost always needed, when you hang multiple objects from a single cable in a vertical stacked grouping, however are not necessary or suitable when using two rods or cables.

In this instance, all but the lowest object will "teeter-totter", with one of the lower corners of the frame contacting the wall and the other lower corner flying away. A Frame Stabilizer, placed behind the lower portion of the misbehaving frames, will bring order and balance to the stacked group. Similarly, when hanging one or more objects from a single rod, a Frame Stabilizer will bring the same benefits.

Notice how these objects hang so consistently at the Aloft Hotel in Minneapolis. Frame Stabilizers are available in two sizes and we offer variations that work with either cables or rods. In addition to creating a floating appearance, or providing necessary balance and stability from teetering, they are virtually invisible in their supporting role.
