The materials in this particular display system are steel, and twice as strong as other museum caliber hanging systems.  The rods are twice the size of standard, at 8mm compared to the normal 4mm.  The size and weight of most museum artwork is much greater than art that would hang in a residence or office, often with large ornate frames that require the same care as the artwork itself, therefore the strength and durability of this system is paramount. 

When hanging art in a museum, security is always a priority.  AS Hanging Systems provide strong mounts to ensure that the piece will remain on the wall.  Once installed this art hanging system will prevent the piece from being removed or from any accidental movement. 

Because of the level of dependency and importance of this wall hanging system, the parts are specific to AS Hanging Systems and are not interchangeable with other less reliable hanging systems.
Also important is the aesthetic of the gallery wall mounts.  Although very discrete, the rods, hooks, and track are available in several different colors to accent the piece on display, fit into the color schemes throughout the museum, or to disappear into the color of the mounting surface.
