The course is free and is performed at distance over the web so any professional can visit the course and complete it at their leisure. AS Hanging Systems has teamed with AEC Daily's Online Learning Center to manage the delivery, testing and reporting of credits to the certifying associations.

Hanging Systems Background
Art hanging systems make it easy for property owners to mount art on a wall without driving nails or common hangers into the wall itself. The French gallery picture hanging system, consisting of tracks and rods, remains the world's most elegant picture hanging solution. The AS version of this system, The Classic System, has been redesigned and improved by a North American company, for added versatility. This now world-class system is ideal for art galleries, cultural centers, artist associations, antique shops, etc. where frequent wall space redesign, securely hanging art, safety and ease of use are all important.

The AS Classic System is an open system consisting of three categories of components - a horizontal element, the "track"; a vertical element, the "rod"; and a "hanger" element.

Tracks
AS Tracks are made of low maintenance extruded aluminium and are hard anodize finished in your choice of silver, champagne, and gold. These are also available in white powder coated finish for an elegant semi-gloss finish. Tracks are also available in unfinished aluminium ready to paint to match your décor. These are lightweight, yet strong and durable and arrive pre-drilled for ease of installation.

They come in 78-inch lengths (200 cm) and because they are aluminium they are easy to cut to length to match your wall segments. Tracks are also available in two versions. The more common, Wall Tracks, mount to a wall or other vertical surface. The second design is a Ceiling Track. When properly installed the tracks holds 300 lbs. or 150 lbs. per length, for Wall and Ceiling Tracks, respectively. (Please ask for our "Installation Guide" for proper installation reference.)

Rods
Just as with the Tracks described above, AS Classic System Rods are made of extruded aluminium and hard anodize finished in your choice of silver, champagne, and gold, or pre-finished in semi-gloss white powder coat or raw aluminium. The rod is formed with a "Shepherd's hook" on one end, which is used to attach the rod to an installed AS Classic System Wall Track or Ceiling Track. You are able to add or remove Rods and slide them along the Track while standing on the ground. Requiring no ladders to configure the AS Classic System makes it very easy to use and one that limits workplace accident claims. Resetting a wall display is truly easy and requires just a few minutes (for application requiring extra secure hangings please see the security component of the Classic System)

The 4x4 mm square Rod is available in lengths of 19, 39, 58, 78 and 98 inches to accommodate your wall height and placement of track. While one end of a Rod is finished with a "Shepher's Hook", the other end of each Rod is finished with a protective "no-mar" tip to protect walls and rear sides of art pieces.

Hangers
The AS Classic System Hangers are hooks that slide up and down the rods with little effort, yet once an item is hung from the hook it automatically locks into place. However, they are infinitely adjustable. It is also possible to place more than one hook on the same rod to facilitate multiple vertical hanging pieces (2-up, 3-up, 4-up, etc.). The ease of this device will allow you to set up a display in record time.

In the spirit of reality television, Framing Monthly is offering a chance for your business to step out in front of the pack, to stand as an example for other framers, to be the best of the best. In other words, receive a fabulous makeover for your backroom.

Framing Monthly and the industry leaders listed here have joined together to find the backroom that will most benefit its owner by undergoing a makeover to create a safe, efficient and productive area. This is your chance to show your stuff to the rest of the industry.

The deadline for applications closed June 1. However, the winner will be announced in Framing Monthly's September 2005 DECOR Expo show issue. We'll then follow the progress of the winner's makeover with an update in the January 2006 issue of Framing Monthly. Then, the March 2006 issue will highlight the finished project and kick off the next contest.

Since its beginnings, the company has deployed efforts to provide you with efficient and personalized service meeting your every need in terms of hanging systems.

Over the last several months, we have worked at improving our internal logistic and it seems obvious to share the evolution with our customers:

1- In March, we inaugurated our new distribution centre which is now larger, easier to access and more pleasant, allowing us to better manage a greater volume of orders on a daily basis.

2- A recent agreement with UPS allows us to offer you better rates on Express service to the United States and Canada.

3- The sales department has developed a platform fully linked to Internet. A new Website will allow you to track your order, assess total costs, choose your shipping method, change information, pay in a secured environment and much more. Significant efforts have been deployed to accelerate the management of these important steps.

4- Our product creation and design department has developed no less than six new products which will soon be available. The visual aspect of our Website has also been revamped to standardize product presentation (3D imaging, sizes, photos and much more).
